Endometriosis Treatment in Bloomfield Hills

Endometriosis occurs when the tissue lining of the uterus (endometrial cells) grows outside the uterus and replaces healthy tissue. A painful or dysfunctional pelvis can result from this condition. There is no cure for endometriosis, but there are several treatment options.

To determine if you have endometriosis and to find out the best treatment plan for you, it is important to seek an endometriosis specialist’s help if you experience symptoms. Medications, surgeries, and lifestyle changes may all be treatment options. Consult a physician from the Endometriosis Center of America to determine the best method. Women’s health is always our top priority.

What is Pelvic Pain?

The term pelvic pain refers to pain located in the lower abdomen and/or your reproductive organs. There are two types of pelvic pain: acute and chronic. The term chronic pelvic pain refers to pain that persists for more than six months and does not respond to various treatments.
In addition to mild discomfort during or around your menstrual cycle, you should not be experiencing any abdominal or reproductive organ pain.
In many cases, pelvic pain is caused by endometriosis. It is important to note, however, that many other conditions could be causing your discomfort. Finding the cause of the problem is essential to reducing or eliminating it. Leaving it unaddressed can lead to more serious problems.

Painful Symptoms of Endometriosis

There are many reasons that you could be experiencing abdominal pain. In addition to pelvic pain and discomfort, other symptoms that may indicate any of these conditions include:

  • Abnormal bleeding
  • Painful intercourse
  • Severe pain during menstrual periods
  • Severe pain during sexual intercourse
  • Painful urination
  • Nausea/vomiting
  • Infertility

What Are the Causes of Pelvic Pain?

There is a wide variety of causes for pelvic pain. From endometriosis pain to menstrual cramps to pelvic inflammatory disease. Either of these conditions can cause lower abdominal, back, and thigh pain. Get your pelvic pain diagnosed by your doctor if you are experiencing pelvic pain. A variety of factors can cause pelvic pain:

Diagnosing Endometriosis

Physicians can treat suspected endometriosis based on symptoms or physical examination findings without surgery. To formally diagnose endometriosis, a doctor must perform a laparoscopy and a pelvic exam to visualize and biopsy suspected lesions.

The symptoms of endometriosis are often similar to those of other pelvic pain problems. Please contact your doctor if you are having any kind of pelvic pain right away, and we can create custom treatment options for you!
