Urinary Frequency and Incontinence

Urinary Frequency and Incontinence

The involuntary loss of urine is often underreported and undertreated. Women are five times more likely than men to be affected by this. They sometimes do not tell their doctor about their symptoms of urinary incontinence because they feel ashamed or embarrassed. Urinary frequency and incontinence can be the result of various factors, but these conditions are easily treatable!

Types of Urinary Conditions:

  • Overactive Bladder / Urge incontinence refers to the sudden urge to void and the involuntary loss of urine.
  • Stress Incontinence is the loss of urine due to abdominal pressure caused from laughing, coughing, sneezing, exercise, and even heavy lifting
  • Overflow Incontinence occurs when the muscles of the bladder are not able to squeeze properly to empty the bladder

Testing and Diagnosis

We’re happy to offer convenient and discreet in-office testing for urinary incontinence. We utilize urodynamic testing to evaluate the function of your bladder.

Urodynamic testing is a simple test that involves filling your bladder with sterile solution to measure the pressure of your bladder.

The results of this test will allow our team to identify your specific type of problem and develop a customized treatment plan to help you stop leaking!

Treatment Options

Nonsurgical and minimally invasive procedures are available in treating urinary leakage. These include:

  • Medication
  • Botox injections to your bladder
  • Emsella kegel therapy
  • Nerve stimulation (Axonics) designed to send signals to the bladder and pelvic floor
